My WLS recommended that we have the PS before readhing goal weight,

as long as the welght loss had stabilized. This is because you leave

some weight behind ( " on the cutting room floor " as they say in

Hollywood), and from the surgical " trauma " you will probably lose

some more weight. I left 10 pounds on the cutting room floor and

lost another 10 pounds in the two weeks following my plastics (hernia

repair, abdominoplasty, butt and outer thigh lift). And, I have lost

an additional five pounds since then.

My plastic surgeon also recommends having your abdominoplasty and other

reconstructive plastic surgery at about 10% above your goal weight. He

feels that if you are at goal or even slightly under-goal when you have

your plastics, the resulting super-tight abdomen is both uncomfortable

and unnatural-looking. He says that allowing for another 10-15 pounds

loss results in a much more attractive appearance, and having seen many

of his patients change and my own results, I must agree.
