Guest guest
Lou, The only dramatic difference was with Sinemet. About 15-20 minutes after taking it Charlotte lost much of her rigidity. I had a physical therapist (PT) here one day near time for the pill and she was saying that Charlotte was extremely rigid. We gave Charlotte the pill and within 15 minutes the PT could tell the difference and the rest of the session went fine. We always attempted to tme the pills for about 30 minutes before a therapy session. But none of her other meds were that dramatic. The Sinemet CR did not have that dramatic an effect either. Guest guest
I think the most immediate effect from a new medication came late in Ken's disease when we introduced Comtan. Ken had progressed to the point where he had to try three or four times to get out of a chair. This up and down motion not only raised his BP but it gave one of us time to get to his side to keep him from hurting himself if his BP dropped enough for him to pass out. So, we were unprepared for the day he got up on the first try, walked across the room and passed out, hitting his head on the sofa, and requiring stitches. Since we had introduced the Comtan in the hope that it would give him more mobility, we regarded this as a positive result! Barbara
