Hi All!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a home health agency in Los Angeles?

My parents are coming to visit in May. They've decided to stay at a hotel

with a wheelchair-accessible shower. They are also interested in having a

home health aide come in to assist.

Vera or Bill , have either of you used anyone or know anyone?

Ray in Las Vegas, are you still considering doing a book on travel for the

disabled? I have some thoughts about it for you if you would like. I was

frustrated in my search for a nice hotel room that was accessible. Even the

good hotels are lacking.

Thanks,

Cindy

I will be interested in hearing whether you can have home health services

while traveling. In TN, we have been told that you can have home health

services only if you do not leave you home for anything other than doctor's

appointments.

Good Luck!

Dear Marilyn:

That was our experience with ken. I had full-time help for him, so we

were able to travel in out trailer and go out to eat and to meetings. Because

of this, our weekly nurse had to be discontinued because of Medicare's rules.

Of course, if I had full-time help which I paid for, we would have been

completely homebound and would have qualified. However, when Hospice people

began to come, they said that they had no such rules. of course, by then, Ken

was so bad, we couldn't take him out even with help, but it was allowed

within Medicare's rules.

Sally,

No wonder Dorothy left Kansas :o) Brownback is also from Kansas :o) And he

is SO worried about life :o)

Note - most states are relenting on going to church (and we always had to

stop and rest at my daughter's home on the way home from church :o) Guess

they figured it was hypocritical to claim family values and to ban church.

Take care, Bill Werre
