Forgot to add, once you get the schedules for feeding and watering balanced,

tain't so bad and you can avoid some of the UTIs, reflux tooth decay, ever

present poopie problems and such. Now is the time to acquaint yourself with

a suction machine, food bag and pump acquisition availability PLUS supplies

through a reliable, p

referably close-by dealer. Incomplete delivery systems continue to plague

me.

Soft gauze drain dressing with holes in them and an unguent called

Lantiseptic are a convenience, too.

Best wishes for comfort and a satisfactory solution. LA Louise, decided

and determined.

Jerrie,

Ifr I remember correctly (it was 1998) they put her in a twilight sleep and

she was out it 30 minutes. I remember a big TV monitor there and the doctor

did it via the TV. Later replacements were done through the same hole in the

doctor's office with no anesthesia. In Fact it came out once and I pushed it

back in. " Not recommended " .

Take care, Bill

Louise: Thanks for your information about the feeding tube etc. At this

point, we are trying " thick it " on the pureed food & liquids & for the

last couple of days there are no problems. When this is no longer

working, Bob has agreed to a feeding tube. Again, thanks.

Bill: Again thanks for explaining the procedure, etc. Right now, the

dr.said Bob could hold off getting the tube if he is able to get

thickened & pureed down. Thanks again.
