Guest guest
Hi folks. I am new in the group, and have read some posts about aches and pains. I have osteo-arthritis, mild osteoperosis, and some degeneration of discs-and can no longer take my Vioxx (since revision on 8/9/02). I am only 49, but talk about aches and pains! A friend introduced me to a product called Syn-flex liquid glucosamine supplement. Their web site is www.activexamerica.com and you might want to read about this product. I put our 12 year old standard poodle on it and began taking it myself (made for people and pets). Our poodle had reached the end of her life, had been taking glucosamine for years, and this made her last few weeks more comfortable. As for me, I haven't taken any ibuprofin liqui gels for pain since I started taking this product. I can't say I am pain free, not completely anyway, but I have more mobility and comfort than even the Vioxx offered. The nutritionist from my doctor's office warned me that the high doses of glucosamine can elevate blood sugar and cause dumping syndrome, so discuss it with your doctor. I decided to try it because my original distal bypass was so old-my intestines have " matured " -and I don't have the severe dumping problems if I get some sugar in my system like the " newbies " . That, in itself, presents other issues of self control-but I am doing pretty well with them. Let me know if any of you find this product to be helpful. I ordered one bottle online, but found it cheaper locally at a natural pet supply store! I like buying local when I can-so it is working out just fine. Take care all, and please send your prayers our way. We had to put down our beautiful poodle last night, and my daughter is having a rough time-as are all in our house. Trina was my daughter's " sister " since she was 6 years old, and we just celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday on Wednesday last week. What a welcome to adulthood!!
