I have seen hiking sticks all over wherever we have traveled. They are not

all the same, so they must be made by different companies. Just try your

local Sporting goods Store.

Look in the Cabela's Catalogue (it's a hunting and fishing supply place). They make them standard and collapsable. In fact, if you have a flyfishing store in your town, they should have them.

Check also with REI. They are a big outdoors store that has lots of stuff like that.

Yes, several companies make them. REI (at http://www.rei.com ) makes somewhat more affordable products. You can also check for others at camping stores. I personally prefer a hiking staff that can be adjusted. This allows me to use it as a 'cane' when things are working well, or as a staff when stability is an issue.

Hope that helps.

Gert,

I got mine at the Back Packer here in Baton Rouge. I think it is a national chain.

God Bless,
