Guest guest
I think there is no need for us to be embarrassed or uncomfortable in any way. My business partner is a petite, 65 year old woman. Her weight and size have been a constant size 8 since I've known her. She has always (for 20 years!) ordered an appetizer for her main mean. Sometimes she'll order a salad and her appetizer. She is never self concious about it, because she's never had a weight problem. My point is, we're only embarrassed because we let ourselves be. These days, most " normal " women [and I don't necessarily think there are any out there!] watch what they eat and order smaller portions. It only feels odd to us former biggies, and I try never to let it bother me. My brother, who also had WLS, is embarrassed to order an appetizer because he thinks he will look cheap. So he orders a whole entre, takes a few bites, and leaves the rest. IT is so wasteful[ he never brings anything home because he's never home} and I think the problem is all in his attitude. I try to order what I want, and don't think about what anyone else is thinking. The truth is, most people aren't paying the slightest bit of attention to what we're ordering or eating - they're too involved in their own stuff. Guest guest
> Just gimme the filet mignon, heavy on the baked potato and stop trying to > gross me out. > > Yuck. > Hey I am all for the filet mignon, but please make that a " loaded " baked potato and a side of shrimp, lobster, or king crab legs !!!! And its fun to gross you out !!!!!!! When I go out I order whatever I feel like...sometimes a salad, mostly fish or meat. Kids menus suck...usually just greasy kid stuff....I have found many italian places will give you a half portion, you just have to ask. I have a " card " but only used it once at a buffet with no problems..... I love leftovers and have them for lunch or dinner the next day...that is if my family hasn't devoured them first !!!! ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- Bonnie -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* 12/15/99 Lap RNY Dr. Andrei 228/115 -113 lbs @ goal 11/19/01 Extended Abdominoplasty 3/29/02 Brachioplasty (bat-wing-ectomy) The doctor shall remain nameless cause I was less then thrilled with the results... 7/31/02 Breast Lift, Thigh Tuck & revision of Tummy Tuck & Arms By Dr. Zachary Gerut , NY A wonderful plastic surgeon !!!
