Guest guest
I gotta say in all honesty some of it has been very hard (emotionally too) and some has been easier BUT one thing I never got from ANY diet EVER was my health... so, if this is the " easy " way or the hard way -- depending on the day *shrug* I got my health for the first time ever so the rest of it is just icing (sugar free) on the cake (also sugar free) ~smile~ hugz, ~denise

No kidding - how about that my new boss travels alot and always brings back candy as a gift. Knows I have had WLS as she is MO and Diabetic and has researched the surgery herself! She would never do it (of course). Her choice. I tried keeping the candy on my desk for others to partake - but amazingly it speaks! Wouldn't shut up as a matter of fact. I added it to my HR director's candy jar - good riddance. She is a permanent size 4 and everyone eats her candy - no one would eat mine.... We all know having WLS is not the easy way. It was a life decision. If someone quits smoking by using a patch rather than cold turkey...are they taking the easy way? No! That person still has a craving for nicotine the rest of their lives. The decision in itself is a difficult one. Then there is the recovery. It does not end there. Really think about the commitment each of you has made. Is it easy, day to day? No! Little things like taking our supplements. I for one, have always hated taking pills. I knew this before my WLS. Yet, to stay healthy, I take pills like I'm a drugstore. I might add..who has room for food with all the pills? Don't forget all the blood tests. My last draining, they took 14 tubes of blood! Okay, we have to count every protein, carb, ect., to make sure we get what we need and not the bad stuff. I still get cravings once in awhile. Disappointing isn't it. We can't have those certain things unless we want to regret it. Dang!!!! I have made mistakes along my journey and paid dearly for it. Nothing like trying to sleep but can't because of being curled up in a ball with pain from that one little glass of milk! Yes, things are easier for me now, 9 1/2 yrs out. It has taken years of learning, sacrificing and changing my old ways. It has never been EASY. I am grateful for WLS. I'm with Vicki! Who gives a rat's a-- what they think.
