Interesting - on our vacation to the Jersey shore last May, I commented on how much more attractive the women were, as opposed the flabby, beer bellied men! I do think the whole child-bearing thing contributes to excess weight in women, though. Kate

Guest guest
We were out to dinner last night, and my husband commented on how many more fat or obese women were in the restaurant and in the mall as opposed to the men. He asked why did we think that was. It was an interesting question, and I can't stop thinking about it. I said 1) that I wasn't sure that was true, and 2) if it was, I thought it was because women are taught to hate their bodies and start dieting at an early age, and dieting leads to eating disorders, regain, yo-yoing and obesity. Someone else at the table said that boys are more active and play sports while girls are more passive. I was wondering what you all think? Guest guest
Did you folks happen to catch the new show Monk last night? Where Cluney portrayed a 900lb " evil " man who couldnt get out of his room yet he was a megalomaniac and evil genius and killed a judge with an accomplice? The things that disturbs me about his show is that his mother just passed and she was quite obese when she did. Also, they constantly called him fat names and degraded him because he was FAT, rather than his evil ness. It really bugged me. It was so wrong such blatant discrimination and we allow it to go on. If he'd been a crippled evil genius they would not have dared stand there and call him stinking disgusting cripple and such, my God! It made me sick. Truly wrong... flo
