Guest guest
*retro omental means behind the omentum, a ligament (i think) *antegastric means in front of the stomach...ante means front, gastric refers to stomach *alimentary refers to the alimentary canal, I think *biliary limb refers to the vessel that comes from the gall bladder to the stomach (bile is made in the gall bladder) *cholecystectomy means they removed your gall bladder... Even though I am an RN it has been a long time since anatomy class. My specialties are hearts and open heart bypasses so even with my own lap RNY I am still just a little vague. > Hello Kind Folks: > > I'm trying to decipher my post-op report.....figure out if I'm distal, > medial, or proximal, etc. > > Can anyone tell me what this means: > > retro-omental antecolic, antegastric 120 alimentary and 60cm biliary limb, > standard Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
