Subject: Muscle Soreness

Hello all,

My name is Robin, I have been reading the messages on this group for a

year

now. I had surgery on May 15, 2001, Open RNY 250 cm bypassed. I have

been

doing pretty good until recently I have sore muscles. Not just every

now and

then but constantly. It has gotten so bad that I have stopped

exercising. I

used to walk 2.5 miles everyday but had to stop because it hurt to bad.

Now I

have stopped exercise completely and the pain isn't as bad but it still

hurts. It almost feels like deep tissue soreness. No matter how much

you rub

it still is sore. So My question is this Does Anybody have any thoughts

on to

what might be going on?

Thanks

Love,

Robin Connell

Hi Robin, It is possible that you have Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I have had it now

for several years. It is characterized by the symptoms that you relate. You

would want to go to your pcp and ask to be referred to a rhumatoligist. While

there is no cure, there are things you can do to make your life more livable. A

good Dr. will help you. If you need more information, you can go to the

Arthritis Foundation. Actually it isn't actually Arthritis as that is in the

joints, and Fibromyalgia is based in the muscles, the fibrous tissues. However,

it was origionally thought to be a form of arthritis. Best wishes on your

search for an answer. Judy
