Guest guest
Hey there, I'd like to pipe up here cause I'm going for a Personal Training career, and just tested for my ACE cert this Saturday, and am 1/3 through my year long 12 course certification training at Mission College. One good way to find a trainer in your area is to call your local Gold's or YMCA and inquire, another is to visit the ACE website for a certified independant trainer: http://www.acefitness.com/ As far as a trainer being upset if you switch, Personal Training is an art as well as a science. We have to learn the art of communicating with and understanding people. Any Trainer worth their salt won't blink if she sees you training with someone else. Some people click, some don't! Just be honest with the trainer you are leaving, but don't be the least bit shy about speaking up. It's your $$ and your body I hope to be one of the new breed of PT's who knows about WLS and can help us all along! http://www.eradain.com/apoplexy Fw: trainers,, david? I lucked out and actually had a trainer recommended to me by a friend and it just worked out great. I think if I were " shopping, " I would just be really up front about that at the beginning. Like " I'm interviewing trainers....do you have an hour open sometime? " I have a feeling it wouldn't take very long at all to determine compatability. I think just the initial meeting and conversation would be very telling......like whether you got a blank stare when you mentioned gb, or got a really hardy congratulations. in Austin

Guest guest
I'm not a Physical Therapist, but I may end up going that route. I considered nursing early on, but didn't have the patience for school. 10 years later, I find I've mellowed somewhat Personal Training is my goal for now! RE: trainers,, david? I absolutely agree with . Sometimes it boils down to personalities as well as plain old expertise. Plus it is your money and know wants to waste money or time. are a Physical Therapist also? That's my line of work.
