(gag, I HATE the stuff, but heard once it even give u a negative calorie count: takes more calories to chew it than there is in the celery). Guest guest
>> it would have been easier without kids, cause half the stuff I had to learn to dislike was there for them!<< > ) Vicki Yah, those " lunch " fixings like bread, cheese, chips -- basics... thank goodness mine doesn't care a lot for the sweets stuff but she does at times and if I liked the stuff my husband eats... ice cream, chocolate syrup, pecans -- I'd be in BIG trouble. Most of the stuff " they " buy at the store -- I don't buy it... specially the ice cream and stuff cuz none of us " need " it. A lot of the things like boxes of candy bars I can ask him to keep at work -- not just for me but I don't want my little one to have daily exposure to it either... that stuff doesn't " get " me... it's the seemingly innocuous stuff like the bread. I like the " environment control " idea though -- even with kids I think a " change in location " is in order... out of sight out of mind? Will give that a try. hugz 'n thanks, ~denise
Guest guest
, I tried the out of sight out of mind thing when my daughter was young. It is funny how they can find ways around your good intentions. Candy, cookies, soda's were NEVER allowed in the house. It wasn't that she didn't EVER get a treat, but it was special and not a daily or even a weekly thing. We did popcorn sometimes, but very little snacking in between meals. I didn't want her to become like me.......also didn't want BAD teeth (in retrospect...something I didn't need to worry about....she inherited her fathers PERFECT teeth.......he has never needed a filling!). But as she got older her FRIENDS would feel sorry for her and sneak her things....like candy bars, soda's. She would " hide " the evidence in her room.......UNTIL Mom would MAKE her clean her room.....then ALL was discovered. Well............she did inherit my obesity.....inspite of my good intentions.
