Guest guest Posted October 4, 2002 Report Share Posted October 4, 2002 Since RNY & BPD malabsorb fats & oils - TO A DEGREE, it would be silly to replace them with the same form we are malabsorbing them. Check your pre-op and post-op cholesterol levels to estimate the degree of malabsorption. Not that you'll KNOW, b ut if it went down 5 pts, you didn't lose much. If it dropped 100 or 200 pts, you malabsorb lots. Mine was 270. In 3 months 168, and forever after, about 120. Remember I said TO A DEGREE, which is not a license to get nekkid in a vat of butter.
