Hi Everyone :-)

Some of you might remember me....yep, it's the long lost Connie H.

and she's feeling like she's abandoned the group.

I've been reading the posts, well, most of them, but lately have

gotten a little behind the times.

OK claudia....what's this about Mixed Connective Tissue Disease? Is

that what they " gave you " ? I think they should call all rheumatic

diseases " mixed " for a couple of reasons. One, the doctors always

seem to be " mixed up " and all of our symptoms seem to be " mixed

together " whether we have just RP or a combination. Well, ,

this could is a good thing, believe it or not. I've seen MCTD

respond very well to the antibiotic protocol (AP). NOW, we just need

to find you that doctor. And what's this about some stomach bug in

your urine?? H. pylori maybe? That's the one that can survive

stomach acid and has been implicated in stomach ulcers. Maybe, just

maybe, they will treat the H. Pylori (if that's what it is) and put

you on the AP. I have a friend here in town who has fibro....AND it

was just discovered that she has H. Pylori, too....coincidence??

Janet.....how are things? As I recall, you and Pete just went to the

doctor, right? Did you discuss the AP? I remember that you were

interested in the Zithromax...I think that's what I remember! I'd be

glad to tell you everything I know (won't take long :-)

I've been thinking of ALL of you guys! If I start naming names, I'll

forget someone unintentionally.....I hope you all know how much I

CARE!

Since I fell down the stairs in January (along with Liz's and Don's

falls!) my back has been giving me trouble. It's fine later in the

day, but is really stiff in the mornings, often waking me up way too

early. Well, Dr. Franco suggested I see the Chiropractor and I did.

I got great relief, but it wouldn't last. Finally....the Chiro and I

were trying to figure it out and I remembered that Bromelain

(pineapple enzyme) is supposed to help with inflammation. He agreed

it would be worth a try. So far so good, but we're only on day two.

It didn't stop my ears from hurting today, but my back is seemingly

better. As for my ears....from one who " might have RP " , even after

quitting the Olive Leaf Extract (kind of like an antibiotic, only

herbal) and CoEnzymeQ 10 my ears still get red for an hour or so most

evenings. Who knows! If that's the extent of it, it's fine by me.

All I know is that my other rheumatic disease is well under control

with the AP. Maybe the " might be RP " is being harnessed, as well.

Anyway...I'm going to Yakima to have lunch with my Mom and sister

tomorrow. It's about an hour+ drive. So, I won't be available

during the daytime.....but I'll check in soon.

Take care and a zillion hugs to all,

Connie H.

Janet,

I don't know if there is an easy way to do this. I tried typing in " myocin "

in the search archives box but came back with " 0 " results.

I then tried " antibiotic therapy " and did come back with a few results.

I will send your question on to Roy too, but all I can tell you is to try

the search archives button.

W

Also try writing and asking Connie personally about this since she's the one

that seems most familiar with it.

Could someone tell me the easiest way to do this???Thanks so much Janet

Hi and Janet,

, try typing in Minocin or minocycline and see if that helps.

Also, Janet, for starters, you might have a look at the following

websites:

www.rheumatic.org

www.roadback.org

www.immed.org (click on the bottom of the page, rheumatic diseases or

something like that)

www.thearthritiscenter.com

www.drmirkin.com (search " arthritis " )

Also, try to get from the library Henry Scammell's book, The New

Arthritis Breakthrough. It has lots of info plus a lot of patient's

stories.

Let me know if you need anything, OK?

Love and hugs,

Connie H.

Yep,

That's what I told Janet to do too, Dawn. The archives have all our mail

there, but trying to find certain things can take a while. We have 31,965

messages stored there and it's hard to find specifics when you don't

remember what the subject line was.

Thanks Dawn,

My God, Janet, is someone actually listening to us?? Hard to believe, isn't

it? Good luck with your search, I haven't been around long enough to know

much, but I bet R. can help! She's like medical encylopedia, she has

so much knowledge she stuns me. There are others who know a lot about it

too. Good Luck! Love, Judy
