I have also noticed that as the fat stores are diminishing from underneath my

skin, that the skin surface also looks drier. It doesn't escape me that I am

also getting older. I remember both of my grandmothers used to use lotions on

their skin -- nothing fancy, just something to replenish the moisture. One

grandmother did not have one facial wrinkle when she was in her 80s, and she

swore by Ponds Cold Cream. My other grandmother used cocoa butter.

I give myself a nice rubdown with body lotions after each shower. It seems to

help, especially with that crepe-y look I had been getting on my arms. I keep

trying different lotions (just for variety). For my face, I use either an Avon

Anew product (cannot remember the name at the moment) or a good light

moisturizer from the Kay line. My facial skin seems to feel better when I

use lighter products -- it's almost as if I can feel my skin say " Ahhhhhh! "

Moisturizers are best applied after a shower, while your skin is still damp and

the pores are open.

Also, supplementation with vitamin E or fish oil capsules helps. We are

malabsorbing some fats, and the essential fat-soluable vitamins are necessary

for healthy skin.

Keltie

been plagued by dry skin for about 6 months. My skin actually looks like crepe

paper in some places. I still have 60 pounds to go (give or take). If anyone has

any

suggestions about relieving the dry skin, which does not itch, by the way, I

would very much appreciate it.
