Guest guest
Jacque, I went through about a 6 month period post reaching my goal -- while my body was learning the " maintaining " part where I stayed seriously COLD almost all the time -- with intermitened hot flashes -- for me, what had happened was my body was making the " adjustments " in my blood sugar levels. My heat and cold, then colder, then less cold and then a heat wave, dizzy, weird feeling -- anyway... mine was related to the foods I ate / shakes / food / and so on... I too contacted my surgeons office about it and they were not concerned. Told me to drink a bit of orange juice when I got really cold and to check for high carbs or fats in my foods when the heat flashes would come. It did pass once my body adjusted to its new life but it took time.... I guess my body was trying to figure out exactly what it was supposed to be doing now... I was a bit underweight too but decided the weight was fine after a while and decided it was good to stay at the weight I was at (it really wasn't underweight... just on the lower end of the scale of normal) Anyway, I kept my weight " as is " and my body adjusted to this size and now it has adjusted to what I feed it too... my body temperature will still change slightly more than a normal persons when I eat something low-end carb but I use that more as a reminder NOT to do that. As the body fat that I had left moved around and got back into the places it belonged and the longer everything had to " level out " the more normal my body temp became. It is good to check out anything medical that could be going on with your body temp because it could well be a medical thing that needs medical attention -- but, if it isn't -- just wanted you to know I went through a phase like that too. It was worse for about 4 months and then noticeable for the next 2 months but has been pretty stable now for well over 1/2 a year or so.... hugz, ~denise
