,

I have been using a liquid calcium by a company called " Buried

Treasure " . It is called Calcium Plus and the bottle says it is

a " bone optimizer " and that it is " readily absorbable " . 2 tbs. has

1000 mg Calcium, elemental (as calcium citrate). It also has 100 mcg

Iodine, 500 mcg magnesium, 15 mcg zinc, 50 mcg selenium, 10 mcg

manganese, 100 mcg chromium, 15 mcg sodium, 40 mcg potassium, 3 mcg

boron.

Sounds pretty good, but there are two problems. One is that it tastes

pretty awful. This one is made with pear juice, and has a very thin,

watery, consistency with some grittiness. But I can live with that.

The second thing is because it is made with pear juice, it is high in

carbs. Two tbsp. has 8 grams of sugar! I only do one tbsp. at a time.

I'm not at all thrilled about the sugar content, however I CANNOT

swallow the calcium pills and this is the only alternative I have

been able to find of citrate (I'm open to suggestions here!). I

don't dump on it at least, but others definitely might. I still don't

like ingesting all that sugar in the name of health though. But at

least I " m getting in my citrate now, which I wasn't doing before.

So watch the sugars if you switch over to the liquids. Also note that

it is expensive. The bottle is $11.81 + shipping and if you do 1500

to 2000 mg of calcium a day, it will only last you about 10 to 12

days. OH, and I bought this at www.getvitamins.com.

Me too, I'd like info. I've got to find something I can take without

getting sick. I get very ill even if I eat food when I take the

citrate calcium. Like a really bad dump is what it feels like. I'm

getting a bone scan the 8th of August for a baseline and hopefully

it'll show that everything is okay. Guess they inject dye and then a

few hours later scan. Is this what they did for you that have had

the scans? Anyway, I haven't been able to take anything but the

carbonate and chance getting the kidney stones back because I had to

choose between being sick or just getting something in me. I do eat

cheese so maybe that helps a little. I'm hoping the liquid stuff

would go down and I'll feel okay taking it.

I use this and I believe i ordered it through (Vitalady). I

have one tablespoon every nite..and take other calcium tabs 2 or 3 times

during the day (but not with my iron or multivitamin). The taste is not

bad and in fact kind of good.

Just got my results of my bone scan...with good results - " extremely low

current fracture risk " . So the calcium is working ...

Um, no not me. I don't have any liquids. I figure you can dump the caps, if

you don't want to swallow.
