I am happy. Truly! If there were ever a cause whose time has come it is

time for this one. I am so very proud to know that this miracle can and does

have such life changing effects and such potential to turn the world around

in it's perception of those who suffer the multiple profound lifelong

physical and emotional handicaps of morbid obesity. We can fix this!

Dear Dan - you will be happy to know that I am running for Nebraska

State Senator this November 5th, and I want to serve on the Health

and Human Services Committee and do just that. Being a nurse, I

have always been touched by the needs of others and especially the

morbidly obese since I am one of them.

Like everyone else here, having this surgery made it possible for me

to pursue my dreams and I will be on the frontier of obesity

legislation. Also for mental health issues including improved

reimbursement for treatment just like other physical diseases.

I won 41% of the vote in the Primary with 3 other opponents (we are

a nonpartisan legislature), so it is me and the guy closest that are

having a runoff in the General. I appreciate everyone's prayers and

positive thoughts for God's Will in my life. This group will be an

important resource for me!
