Guest guest
Marty--Plainview, eh? Sam and I moved into Levittown in 1949, with two babies. Nothing but potato fields out that way before that. It was a great adventure, and everyone was young and a veteran--we had to put $100 down on the house (donated by my parents) and we got it back at settlement. The house cost 7990, and you had to make $60 a week--Sam's first job of a week paid $62.80 a week--we were in clover. And we were not supposed to hang clothes out on Sunday--that lasted a very short time, with all the diapers in town. Anyway, good luck to you and your wife.
