Guest guest
Deborah, Are you the same one that the newspaper reported about having brain surgery? If you are, I was wondering how you are doing now. If not, please except my apologies in asking. Guest guest
Belinda, Yes, I am the person that the newspaper article was written about. Much to my amazement, I am probably 50% better than before I had the surgery in the first place. A lot of my symptoms have returned but there are some amazing differences. I now sleep through the night, I don't fall as often, the pain is still constant but I am no longer taking mepregan or darvocette on a daily basis. My speech has improved and so has my night time breathing... I no longer need oxygen while I sleep. For that matter, I was able to get my drivers liscense back two weeks ago. (I had not been able to drive since November). The doctors are amazed to say the least. They told me that there is no medical/scientific explination for 1) me having lived and 2) NO brain damage resulting from the staph infection in the brain or running a temp of 105 for a week. I have had 12 MRI's and 10 CAT scans since December. The doc took the last one and compared it to the 1st one and found NO progression of the disease and found NO damage from the DBS or any of the trauma that my brain went through. Because of this, I have been scheduled to have the DBS re-done on the right side on July 10 and on the left side in October. My explination to all of this is that prayer works!
