I'm afraid that I must disagree with Lyn on the Glucerna. Glucerna

was made specially for diabetics and one of the things that diabetics

have to do is watch their weight. I have thought about using this

product myself as I haven't been able to find a protein powder or drink

that I like. As my husband is a diabetic, we are always looking for

things that he can eat and drink and Glucerna was one of the things that

my husband's endo doctor recommended for him. They can't be too high in

carbs as carbs as things that diabetics should not get alot of because

carbs can raise blood sugar levels quite high. So I have to say that

Glucerna, to me, would be a great alternative for those of us who

haven't been able to find a protein drink that we can handle. JMO

Beth:

I guess my question would then be how many calories does one of the

powdered protein drinks have in it? And what do you suggest to those of

us who haven't been able to find a protein drink that we can stomach?

My point was that Glucerna would be an alternative for someone who

either can't stomach the whey protein drinks or someone, like me, who

have been unable to find one that they can live with.

Yes, I know that Proscore and some of those other ones are favorites,

but I am not a chocolate person. Never have been - never will be.

Right now I am getting my protein from foods and from protein bars that

I have found that I like, but I would like to find a protein drink. I

have tried many, many samples of different types and flavors and so far,

no go. So to me, Glucerna would be an alternative until I do find one.

But, again, everybody is different, so we have to use what works best

for us.

Martha:

What a great suggestion about the straw - I may have to try that! I

know for me part of it is the smell of the mix as well as the taste

itself. I know that I need to get more protein in each day, but have

gotten so frustrated as I haven't been able to find one that I can get

down and keep down. But I will just keep looking!
