Guest guest
Greetings : The drug manufacturer provides the following warning and caution about proamatine: > ProAmatineR use has not been studied in patients with > hepatic impairment. ProAmatineR should be used with > caution in patients with hepatic impairment, as the > liver has a role in the metabolism of midodrine. > > Laboratory Tests > > Since desglymidodrine is eliminated by the kidneys and > the liver has a role in its metabolism, evaluation of > the patient should include assessment of renal and > hepatic function prior to initiating therapy and > subsequently, as appropriate. So, it appears liver function tests are desirable. If liver function is impacted, then doctors would discontinue use of proamatine. For more information about this: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic3/midodrine_wcp.htm Regards, =jbf= B. Fisher
