Anyhoo, been a shoe freak (and jewelry freak -- costume that is, can't afford the " real " stuff) for a long time bcuz it wasn't as disheartening to go shopping for that stuff as an MO person, as it was to shop for clothes. Had to get rid of ALL my shoes bcuz it was getting dangerous to walk in them. I kept tripping over the front parts that stuck out too far beyond my toes. Imagine! Still in the process of replacing what I lost shoe-wise; had pretty much a matching pair for every outfit in my closet. Fun, but skeeps, it gets expensive............. Reminds me of the advice a postie gave a supportive hubbie at a support group meeting eons ago: " make lots of money, bcuz honey, she's gonna wanna spend LOTS of it on new clothes and such....... How many browns, blues, and reds are there in the color spectrum? Got 'em. Black is black, of course, but lots of different materials: suede, satin, faille, leather, patent, u get the idea. Ditto white. But then there's off-white, cream, ivory, winter white, ahem. Yes, well. I only have ONE pair of yellow and ONE pair of green and ONE pair of hot pink. (Lots of OTHER pinks, tho). Oh, and by the way, u DO know that the blue-green family is neither blue nor green, but a whole 'nother category, right? Once I complete my shoe wardrobe satisfactorily, I'm branching out into knee-high boots. The kind that are made for STOMPING (substitute for " walking " in Tina Sinatra's song..........) Guest guest
I too lost in my feet. Went from a EEE to just a plain old wide. Lost about 1/2 a size though. Did get my very first pair of Birkenstock's this year. Sorry Lyn. I just love them!!!! Never have been into shoes, because it was so hard to find anything in my size and for the weight I was carrying. Now I have black leather boots, all kinds of sandals, etc. The only time I wear sneakers anymore is when I go for a walk to exercise. I've been wearing sneakers for the better part of ten years, now my feet are as happy as the rest of me is and they're showing it.
