If it were to happen to me, I would get it fixed immediately, before I regained my weight! I do not recall the % numbers that were told to me as a pre-op, but it was in there...right along with 1 in 200 " die " and leaks and blood clots and other potential risks. I found out about my SLD about 6 months after my open RNY on 8/99 .. A year later, after having to change insurance cos., I had a lap transection with Dr. Gagner in NYC. I considered it a royal pain in the patootie, as I hadn't planned on another surgery until plastics time, but I lost the weight I had gained, and all is well now.
