Just got off the phone with Regina, said that docs are definitely letting her go home today and that I should come up around 10 am to spring her. She sounds much better. I think the fact they're letting her out has something to do with that. She is definitely weak, but I'm going to take the next few days off of work to stay home with her. I'm usually off three days a week anyway, so it works out well. This week I'm off Thurs., Fri and Saturday. So I'll have an entire week to help her out and then two weeks from now have her complain that I didn't do any laundry or housework. And she'd be right with that complaint. Anyway, getting the kids off to school. Didn't tell them that mommy is coming home today just in case some hot shot decides that she needs breast implants or something. ceep, there is no such thing as a short phone call in Regina's world. I really appreciate the offer and she will too when she sees the note, I just want her to rest quietly for the next week while I " m home. Her friends call me the " gatekeeper " . But I have to be, because otherwise, she will take care of everyone and everything else besides herself. She can't help it. That's just her. The only calls that I'll let through would be from her friend about her baby in the hospital. By the way, thank you all for your offers of prayers for baby Ricky. He received a transfusion and seems to be on the upswing and may be coming home today too. So ladies, I think you can put away the gb-mobile for now and save it for another day. Your e-mails have been greatly appreciated and always brightened Regina's day. If she is feeling up to it later, she will most likely e-mail you herself. So I'm sure you'll be hearing from her. I'll give her 15-20 minutes and then it's back to bed with a protein shake and a bottle of water. She said one of the good things that came out of all of this is the help she recieved from all the doctors with her medical microbiology homework. Also said it was pretty scary how a lot of them had to take the book, read and re-read the question that she had and try to figure out how to explain it to her. She said " at least I'll be working on dead people so if I truly screw up, no harm no foul, but these guys are working on me " . At least her sense of humor remains intact. Thank you again for everything and I'm sure you'll be hearing from Regina herself later today. Just want to say how amazing all of you are and that I can see why Regina enjoys this list so much. I feel I've found a support group for myself and I never had a major weight problem, though, between age creeping up on me and the fact I've been eating out a lot lately, ten pounds sure does come up on you a lot faster than it used to. I just started with her protein shakes too. So to my new found friends, thank you and for now my job is done here. Now I have to take care of my wife and kids, then when she's better, kick everything back to her so I can become the lazy bastard that I've always aspired to be. This Mr. Mom stuff sucks. I don't know how you ladies do this day in and day out. Have to admit I've gained a whole new perspective on working mom's and just mom's in general. You deserve mother's day more than just once a year. The three different outfits and hairstyles on our daughter every morning alone is enough to send you over the edge and she is only 6.
