Guest guest
Barb, I could have written this exact paragraph. You wrote my experience. The only way I ever effectively addressed it was accepting responsibilty for it. Dan Slone Surgery 5/2/2000 -----Original Message----- From: BandonBarb@... " It started when I quit abstaining from ....sugar. For an entire year, I abstained from white flour, sugar, caffeine, soda, processed foods, all the breads.. Slowly, I have put back into my food program...coffee; processed foods; breaded foods; sugar--a few bites of this & that (pie, etc.)...and then WHAMMO! BIG time appetite! All the time appetite! I am having a struggle each and every day & will be so glad when Halloween is over. In my " self-sabatoge " I spent..oh...$30-$50 in mini-candies & there isn't much to hand-out tonight...because, I bought them several times over in this past month. I am at the gym 3-5 times/week. Daily, I am attempting (but failing so far) to strive back---- to ABSTAINING as I used to do & get rid of these cravings! Oh, yeah. I added " sweet alcohol drinks " back in, also :-( This to me adds up to all of the danger signals of my pre-op thinking. I know it all boils down to " choices " of what I do and do not put into my mouth. And if I do or do not exercise, take my supplements, etc. Wishing us all well, Barb B. Guest guest
Amen to that, Dan! I have decided to take responsibility for what I put into my mouth. During this...one bite at a time, I shall remain abstinent. Today, has been an abstinent day..... It is only 4pm here & I hope to God that I can manage from now until bedtime. Hubby just went up for MORE candy....there wasn't enough to give out. His only words to me were.... " ...is THIS ALL of it that is left? " I feel like crap. There is nobody else here! Just us and he KNOWS what he ate from those candy bags & it was not much :-( I am going to have dinner soon....that should help. Then, I will hit the sunflower seeds. Maybe then I will stand a chance of staying outta da candy. SF seeds at least are protein. > Barb, I could have written this exact paragraph.
