I'd appreciate any help or advice you could offer! >> dear Sharon P. re your labwork, I do not know about these matters for others too much. But, I wondered if your doc would do your levels again in a couple weeks rather than a couple months? Would that help to see? I do not know for sure. Also, I know that we have to be careful to take enough calcium and the right kind of calcium REGULARLY.. Is your doc worried, has he a concern about the slightly low hemoglobin (according to the ranges you listed) for instance? Just my very two cent's worth Sharon, but I would call my surgeon and ask him/ her, instead of the pcp who you think is inexperienced. I would call my own surgeon and ask --even if I had to pay out of pocket. hang in there all best, ceep

LOL). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sharon, Your blood results are similar to what mine have been. My ALT has been as high as 211, with the normal being below 40. At my last test it was 15, in Aug. I talked with my surgeon over a year ago about it. He told me that if I wasn't getting enough calcium, it could cause high liver counts. I do know my Dexascan shows I need to get my calcium up. I will tell you, I have been having hypoglycemic episodes, which I was told was due to lower iron levels. My last test was 7 with ranges being 10-28. This I was told gives a low glucose level. I believe the uric acid being low also indicates this. I am only telling you what my specialist has told me. I can relate to being a guinea pig! This is my theory though, for myself anyway. I have had super sharp pains in the area of my pancreas off and on since approx. a year out from my surgery. These are horrible when they happen. I get sick to my stomach and it feels like someone is sticking a knife through me. No one has actually figured it out. My family doc has given the best explanation. He and I think that I may develop stones in the pancreas. When there is a blockage, my liver counts go up. The pain, may be stones passing. Then my liver levels drop back down. I will tell you that I have been very good about taking my vitamins as well. The best information I had was what I was going by. You have to really educate yourself. The people on this list have been very helpful. I don't recommend you miss any supplements. If you have low levels, work very hard at getting them up again. I am doing the same but it is difficult. I look at it this way, we may be healthy now but what about 20 or so years from now? Stay on top of it. I don't know if this helps or not but I am in your boat. Dawn
