Guest guest
Please forgive me for not posting this sooner, but I'm superstitious and thought it might be just a fluke. First, a little background...I was 3 years out from an open RNY on 8/11/99, had a staple line disruption and gained 17 pounds before a lap stomach transection on 8/24/00. I never did really exercise, and still don't (bad !). Since the transection, I lost what I had gained back, plus some, and had remained stable at about 185 for almost 1 1/2 years. I figured that was where I was going to stay, which was fine, although not ideal, but I felt good...so be it. Also, I'm self-employed with a home-office, so the kitchen is right around the corner. I always had SF cookies or pretzels or whatever right next to me at the 'puter. Now, I must add that I've been on these various lists for over 4 years, and have had the benefits of protein pounded into my head by mama and others to no end. Of course, I agreed, but still did shakes only occasionally. OK, call me hard headed here! LOL Well, one day, I decided to give up my oatmeal for breakfast and have a shake instead. Got out my PB 55, in the blender with ice and a whole banana (yes, a whole one), and it was so yummy and filling, kept me satisfied til lunch. Cool! So, this became my breakfast, and still is...I love it! That's all I changed! What happened then, without me even realizing it, was I lost my desire for the SF cookies, pretzels & whatever other snack foods....hmmmm, go figure. I eat what I want for lunch and dinner and even in-between, but no bad snacks. Well, long story short...here I am, 3 years out after a 1 1/2 year " plateau " ...from 185 to 168...17 pounds and still losing, I think, slowly but surely. Imagine that! )) OK, just once, , , Felicia, et al...I give...in unison now...go for it.... " I TOLD YOU SO!!! " Ya see? Sometimes it takes 4 years to get it through this thick skull! LOL Bottom line... " WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY??? " MY 17 POUND LIGHTER BUTT!!! Love ya, in NJ 306/168/whatever
