What kind of calcium is she using? Tums? Should be calcium citrate if she

isn't using that

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a friend that had her bypass done December will be 3 years

ago. Well, anyway last year she started having a problem with

kidney stones. She had to have them surgically removed and in the

past several months she started having more problems. The stones

last year let so much scar tissue that she has to have her urethea

completely replaced. She had never had any problems in the past with

stones and when the doctor read that she had bypass surgery he asked

her if she was told not to drink when she ate. She of course said

yes and that she always followed that rule. He said that this is the

reason that she has the stones. That when you don't drink when you

eat that the food just sits there and starts crystallizing, or

something like that and creates the stones.

This is just a heads up for everyone, of course not everyone maybe

effected the same way.

I have always drank when I eat, I just couldn't not drink. So, I may

not have any kidney problems, but I have had a problem with gaining

30 pounds of my weight back, because the food goes through so fast, I

stay hungry all the time.

Yes, kidney stones are regular visitors. Many of us were told to take Tums

or calcium carbonate. So, we did. And we paid.

We also were never really scared off coffee, tea, colas. Not that they are

poisonous, but we tend to drink them by the gallon, not by the cup. And the

tannic acids & phosphates build up and build lovely oxalate stones.

Then you get someone like me who just has trouble with water, and presto,

instant stone machine.

According to the urologists (Don's & mine), it is VERY common for us.
