Guest guest
Sally: I know exactly how you feel. My father was in the military 31 years. After his retirement, mom needed surgery to remove a brain tumor. The military wouldn't fly her to Walter . Said it could be done locally. She came out of surgery in a coma, and died 19 days later. It was an ordeal to get her the intensive care she needed. I won't go into details but I am sure you can imagine all the running around I had to do those three weeks- I had no time to grieve my mom. After the funeral the paperwork, bills kept coming. Finally,, my dad who hated any debts just went into his savings and paid, like you, $1000s. It was so unfair. He felt betrayed by a system that he had served in three wars. He never mentioned the military again. I never realized how much it hurt until I read your message. Thanks.
