Guest guest
I work for gastroenterologists who have a registered dietician on staff. I can't tell you the number of times in the past few years that she has cornerned me and asked me about what I eat, supplements, etc.. As bariatric surgery is becoming increasingly popular, their office performed many preoperative gastrscopies. They're talking about giving my number to patients and let me talk to them. Told them fine, but I will be reimbursed. LOL The dietician also applies some of what we do to her morbidly obese patients that she has that are in nursing homes, etc. I told her that she should be careful, because we don't eat like regular people and that if she wants to up the protein and lower the carbs on her 500 pound patient, that would be a good place to start. And she's making the big bucks. LOL My friend is an administrator for an Internal Medicine/Cardiac group, who also has a registered dietician on staff. She is younger and more informed, but still behind the times and calls me from time to time. Eventually they may " catch up " with us. Off to Mt. Rushmore until Tuesday. It's now 4 am and the car service is picking us up in half and hour. My husband is bringing his laptop so I can keep up with the group in the evenings when the kids are asleep. I also have a friend who teaches a course for the nursing program where I'll be going to school, I will see if she can find out about what the students in the nutrition classes are learing. It would be interesting to find out. I'll make that my first project. Have a good week. Have to run, the kids are already fighting about who is sitting in the " window " seat on the plane. However, we'll be taking three different planes to South Dakota, so most of us will be able sit near the window at one point or another. OYYYYYYYYY Wish me luck.
