Guest guest
I had mentioned putting in a complaint against my former GP to the College of Physician's and Surgeons. This GP was still (at my son's request) my son's GP (that proves he's nuts rightLOL!) Well the SOB sent this letter to me and I came home to it friday. Re: your letter of March 25, 2002 (the one where I asked him to help myson and pass on relevant information for his benefit) I am unable to continue in any capacity to look after your family. Yours truly etc. Now I have faxed this reply: Dear Dr. ***: This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter (date March 26 2002) and voice my disappointment. Since my son is an adult of twenty-three years, I expect you will explain it to him, as it is not my job to do so. The disappointment is in the timing which I interpret as a callous indifference to my son’s suffering. I will not be conveying this news to him as it is in my judgment best to leave it to you. If the intent was to hurt me, you have succeeded. I hope you treasure the moment Yours sincerely, Aletta Mes This is the kind of crap you can expect when you complain against a doctor. Add that to the number of physicians who refused to take me as a patient - who knows what other influence he will try to exert. Lesson, to follow this path is hazardous. Nevertheless, someone has to make sure that doctors are not allowed to forget they're sworn to do no harm. I sincerely wish more doctors would act for their patients not the 'brotherhood', I held them in higher regard than that. ly didn't want to spend energy continuing with the complaint, but it would be wrong to let this go. Wrote a six page letter responding to the College's letter to me outlining the doctor's position and telling them of the newer developments. Starting to regret not going straight for a lawyer (despite my allergy to them). Not sure after all this I or my family will be able to gain fair access to medical care without leaving the province. So that's how I spent Easter, that and visiting my son in hospital. aletta mes, vancouver, bc canada http://www.aletta.0catch.com
