Guest guest
Congratulations le on being back at school. I'm 39 (40 in January) and went back to school last semester. Unlike you though, even with the weight loss, I am not looking forward to the public speaking class. Going to try to take it over the summer, so it will just be five weeks of torture instead of an entire semester. People are always quite shocked when I tell them how terrified of public speaking I am. I've always been quite outgoing and fairly well spoken, but just the thought of this class gives me the creeps. I got suckered into speaking before Congress about 9 years ago regarding healthcare, insurance, etc and was constantly being shown on the local news show. The Today show called me and wanted me to come on and I damn near had a stroke! Told them that if they wanted to call me during the show they could interview me over the phone or they could read from the transcripts of my speech, but no way was I doing that again. Here I am much older, wiser and a heck of a lot thinner and still shudder at the thought. I was on the local TV station on Friday with my kids when we took them to see Harry Potter. They interviewed both of my kids, but only aired speaking. Leah was quite upset about it. As for me, didn't look bad, just thankful they didn't stick the microphone in my face. I love the idea of your topic and your intro. I'm sure you'll do quite well. Good luck to you. Regina
