Guest guest
We were talking about things that make us eat, and I have to add one of my downfalls: free food. It doesn't matter if I don't even like it, or I'm not especially hungry. When there's food that I don't have to pay for, I think it must be eaten. A nice man at a Mc's gave me some ice-cream the other night (I was studying and he felt sorry for me.) I didn't eat all of it, but I ate much more than I really wanted. A few spoonfuls would have been plenty. I probably ate half a cup of it. I guess I think there's always a potential famine " just around the corner " and I'd better eat all of the food before it comes. Oddly enough, I'm fine at buffets now and just graze without overeating.
Guest guest
That is one of the BIG differences between the MO and normal people . . . when they aren't hungry, they are able to say " no thank you, " even if its been cut, poured or served . . . here is a great example. A friend of mine who had always been thin and beautiful, got chubby, though still beautiful. She lost the excess by getting back in topuch with physical hunger . . .her husband came home late one night and brought a bowl of ice cream up to their bedroom and said have some. She said, " no, I am not hungry. " He said, " its good, just try it. " She said NO, and I mean it . . . so he shoved it close to her face because . . . it had the key to her new BMW sticking out of the ice cream and he realized that no amount of pleading was going to make her eat it! LOL, I bet she'll at least look when he offeres her food from now on! T HE POINT WAS, REAL SLIM PEOPLE CAN'T BE TALKED INTO EATING! Oh, and she got the car without a bite! ) Vicki In a message dated 9/12/2002 8:43:11 PM Pacific Standard Time, WLS@... writes: > It doesn't matter if I don't even like it, or I'm not especially hungry. > When there's food that I don't have to pay for, I think it must be eaten. > A > nice man at a Mc's gave me some ice-cream the other night (I was > studying and he felt sorry for me.) Guest guest
And buffets are my downfall. I think that I should " get my money's worth " out of them and make myself miserable in the process. Isn't it funny what pushes our buttons where food is concerned? Now if she had said a new pair of shoes, I would have had her > describe them in detail! LOL! Never been much of a show persn. I have 3 pairs of white tennis shoes, and they all look alike. The only difference is the fit, and which ones I like best depend on what fit I'm in the mood for. Does everyone lose shoe sizes? I went from a 10 or 11 wide, when I could squeeze into them, to an 8-1/2, usually wide. It amazes me the shoes I can wear. But I miss my Birkenstocks -- got them on sale less than half price, but they were big 10's, and eventually got SO big I couldn't keep them on. Now I can't afford a pair that fits! One of these days, though... I saw them at the Navy Exchange for $60! (drool) ~~ Lyn of the Boring Feets

Guest guest
Ditto. Been a long time since ice cream's been on my list of goodies. LOL! Shoes? Did someone say shoes? How many? What kind? How many colors do they come in? (shhhh, don't tell Don). If he hears me talking about shoes, he'll come over & pull my plug. Re: free food > Oh my God!
