You can either have the roof of the van raised or the floor of the van lowered. That is because the wheelchair sits taller than a regular seat and if the person sitting in the wheelchair is tall, he will hit his head on the roof of the van if one of these modifications is not done. I researched these van modifications for about two months before I decided on the rear entry - for convenience and price. We have a lowered floor.
