Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear of Warren's continued difficulties. I haven't got anything to add on the new medication, just that it wrenches my heart to hear how difficult it is for you to work through this part of the disease. You are living through my worst fear -- that Rob will end up just existing, not living. He would hate that, and I would hate it for him. Our prayers are with you both. Guest guest
Tegretol can be used for lots of things but when the system is so slowed down like Warren's it can really be hard on it. I wonder why they would be him on a seizure med if they thought he was having mini-strokes. Do they think he is having seizures? Did you say in your last note that you have been in the hospital with pneumonia? , you are so worn out. Please take care of yourself. Guest guest
Sally, No I wasn't in hospital but in bed at home. Luckily my brother had come for a visit so he took care of me. I'm tired but doing okay. Since Warren doesn't seem to miss me I'm staying shorter periods of time and that way getting more rest. I think all the stress has put me in this position as usually I'm very well. They did say that Warren was having seizures along with the mini-strokes. They put him on it because after the last bit in the hospital he was a completely different man, fighting taking meds, trying to get out of the home, very mixed up in his mind and trying to " save " everybody financially. So Dr said lets try this, otherwise they would have to move him to another place. I didn't want to make more changes on him he's so confused anyway. Dr. is checking him tomorrow to see if they should cut back on the meds. Thanks so much for your support. S. Guest guest
I'm so glad you are feeling better. Yes, the stress of all of this can just take you over the edge. Please take care. If they feel Warren needs to be on seizure meds and lowering the dose doesn't help, there are many of them out there. My daughter took Depokote for 5 years and she did well on it at a very low dose. I'm not sure what Anne takes. We might check and see. Hang in there, . I'm here if you need me. Sally

Guest guest
Hi all, Warren's Dr. has put him on Tegerol to try and calm him down. It has done that and I'm afraid more. Warren didn't even miss me last week when I was in bed with pneumonia and wasn't up to visiting. Yesterday when I went in he said " Hi " and then drifted off (not asleep) but not with me either. I fed him his lunch, and it was like feeding a baby. He immediately went to sleep after we finished. During the time I was feeding him, he was reaching out and taking " something " in his hand and bringing it back to lay over the arm of his wheelchair. I've got a call in to the Dr. to see what he thinks. Warren had been trying to get out, walking everywhere in his new chair and very glad to see me when I arrived. Now it is nothing. The Dr has told me that his dementia was really taking over and he wanted to try this Tegerol (sp?) to see if it would help him. He told me it would not make him sleepy allthe time. If any one has used this Tegerol, please let me know your experiences with it. Right now Warren isn't living, he's existing. S
Guest guest
Hi, The medicine is tegretol which I finally found when I got the right spelling. I have talked to Dr. and he is seeing Warren to see if it is causing all this other effects. Thanks for replying S New Med > > > > Hi all, > > Warren's Dr. has put him on Tegerol to try and calm him down. It has done > > that and I'm afraid more.
