Guest guest
Hi Some time ago some of you responded to my posting on facial spasms and among other things Botox was recommended. My mother suffers from facial spasms that are occuring more and more frequently. The spasms cause her mouth to pout and twist, sometimes her tongue is uncontrollable and her face turns " blusih " probably due to her promlems with breathing during these spasms(less oxygen intak I gues). The spasms look painful and very unpleasant(but since she can only indicate 'yes' and 'no' by blinking her eyes we have to make educated guesses all the time. She was treated with Baclofen which had some positive effect, but unfortunately she was taken off Baclofen again due to diarreha. Currently she is being treated with increasing doses of Stesolid(diazepam) but this drug makes her increasingly apathetic and unresponsive and very sleepy. My questions are: Would Botox help on these spasms? Where do you inject the botox shots? Thank you Krista Lauridsen, Denmark
