this is my first post since I have just reached my 1 year on july

6th. I am a male 44 5'8 " started at 330 and am now down to 180. I

just had a hernia repaired and that went well. I had open RNY distal

and the surgery did what they said it would do. I was hopeing someone

better informed could help me understand blockages better. I have had

2 and the pain was horrible. I woke up this morning feeling funny but

went to work and didn't eat anything all day and by 3:00 I was in

severe pain. Thank God it passed at 6:00. I thought blockages

happened soon after you eat . Does this mean that my blockage is far

down the digestive track. I had grilled Pork loin and green beans for

dinner no bread and had popcorn and watermelon for a snack. Meat has

never given me any problem in the past. What do you think caused

this. The other time I had a blockage all I had eat was a tuna fish

sandwitch. I would like to avoid this in the future so any words of

wisdom would be appreceated. I live 4 hours from where I had the

surgery and would have to go to a small town ER if it didn't stop.

How long should you wait before going to the ER? Mine have passed in

the past in about 2 to 3 hours of bad pain. Is there anything they

can do for you at a ER. Does anyone know where I can find a good

explenation of what is going on internaly during a blockage. Any

advise would be greatly appreceiated because that is the worst pain I

have ever endured. By the way is it that painfull for everyone else

or am I just a wimp. Please Email me because at present I don't

receive the posts thanks gwharris1@...
