Guest guest
Hello, all. For anyone who's lost track, (sign on name is lowbackmary) has had some horrible problems. She had a very severe hernia and had so many tears in her abdominal wall that they had to insert a mesh. The mesh caused a chronic wound problem. She's been sick for months about 9 months, with constant drainage and all sorts of problems. To make matters worse, she has a really rare blood disorder. Anyway, her physician decided to remove the mesh and insert a material that will make scar tissue form in its place. That scar tissue will then make an abdominal wall for her. She had the surgery 2 days ago, and is now doing OK. She's had a few problems with a catheter. They also discovered that her intestine had gotten attached to the mesh, and removed a few inches of it. Right now her wound looks good and everyone on the WoundComp list is crossing their fingers. (She addresses us as Fellow Wounded, by the way.) She seemed to be in really good spirits, and she even felt good enough to ask me about my mother and sister. To lurking pre-ops, lots of weight loss surgery patients get hernias, but her problem was unusually severe. It's very unlikely anything this awful will happen to you. , the degenerate angel
