Guest guest
I would suggest she get her labs checked for liver problems. Liver problems are often associated with itching. Good luck, B
Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone knows of any causes of extreme itching. My Mom is 6 months post-op and itches like crazy. So much so that she's rubbed off skin on her hands and feet and has to spray the itchy spots with Benadryl spray to get any relief. It started right after her surgery but she just attributed it to the anesthesia, but now it's been going on for awhile. I know that I read about this somewhere recently, but I can't remember where. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it if you'd send them - and so would my Mom. ------------------------------------------------ Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.comT http://www.5dollarhosting.com http://www.5dollarhosting.com/> (877)-838-HOST / .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! Guest guest
I go through this ithcing stuff periodically. Not as extreme as scratching my skin off, but crazy itchiness EVERYWHERE. It started about four months out, lasts for a couple of days, then fades and I forget about it until it picks up again. I asked about itching awhile ago here, but nobody seemed to have any ideas as to why. Had my 18 month bloodwork done a month ago ('s list, including the bone density scan), A & D were marginal (started a supplement), zinc and iron were low (started zinc supplement, changed type of iron supplement from carbonyl to ferrous sulfate thanks to info from this group!); I will retest in a few months. Haven't had my liver tested specifically. In other words, I can't help your mom, Terry, but I can certainly relate!
