Guest guest
Alice: I personally find that melatonin a half hour before bed is great to get " conked " out. If you use it everyday, you'll probably get used to it. It is a hormone that depletes as we age and is responsible for setting our clock. My shrink said that the 3mg would be fine. I take it about 2 out of 3 days. Last night, I tried 3 grams of l-glutamine. I still woke up, but had a more deep and restful sleep and didn't wake up as much. in Austin RNY April 1998 sleepless nights no more >> I, too, was always an insomniac as a kid. My internal clock says bedtime is > about 2 in the morning, and wake up shouldn't be before 10 in the morning, > unless there is some really enticing thing on the agenda. > Now that I am under such stress, I need more sleep. I go to bed, sometimes > drift off right away (well, okay, in the first half hour) and then sleep > pretty well. I find that pure physical activity and no naps during the day > are the only thing that works for me. > > Ok, ok. I lie. I also find that a carb before bed works as well or better > than any sleeping pill ever did.
