Guest guest
Maltodextrin is a sweetener used in many sugar free candies and things. In a fitness magazine I got yesterday, it listed the glycemic index for a lot of products. You should stay with the stuff onthe lower end of the glycemic index. The higher stuff can cause dumping easier. OK. So................... fructose........32 sucrose........92 (table sugar) glucose........137 maltodextrin...150 From this, it looks like we can dump really quick on " sugar free " stuff that is sweetened with maltodextrin. The new sugar free syrups that Starbucks and and Noble use for their coffees contain maltodextrin. ( and Noble doesn't carry the DiVinci syrups anymore). So, even if something says " sugar free " , read those labels carefully.
