Guest guest
Hi Cindy, Glad you found the group. Sorry about your Dad. It doesn't seem right does it that all those billions went to send man to the moon when there are so many frontiers to explore here on earth? If sceintists knew why the brain cells were dying in these neurodegenerative disorders then they could start looking for a way to prevent it. With the Parkinson Plus disorders like MSA they now know that there is a build up of strange plaques in the brain cells made up of a protein called alpha-synuclein. More research is being done on alpha-synuclein and other related proteins so we are hopeful a breakthrough will come soon. They've now lumped several neurodegenerative disorders including MSA under the label " synucleinopathies " . If you are interested in learning more, below are some suggested references. Guest guest
Thanks for reply, a few weeks have gone by and I've learned alot here. By coincidence, we have family business in Washington DC, and will try to meet up with Bill Werre. My parents are coming in from Pgh., and I'm driving down from Philly. You and Bill are especially helpful. Thanks. Cindy Beck Re: new to group - Cindy > Hi Cindy, > > Glad you found the group. Sorry about your Dad.
