Guest guest
Thank you to all of you who responded to my posting. I really appreciate your help. The cat scan was done on Sheldon today. The surgeon, neurologist, gastrointestinal doctor and our primary physician said that the organs looked good in the cat scan. The liver shows damage. They will deal with the gall bladder later. The game plan right now is to try to let the liver heal and to treat him for the hepatitis. His body is totally yellow. He will remain hospitalized and they will monitor the counts on his liver etc to see if they go down in the next few days. More tests have been ordered. Hepatitis A,B,C came back negative. They are doing more tests to see if they can find the cause of the hepatities. We were told that the hepatitis could be drug induced. He is taking so many medications for the shy-drager syndrome. They have taken him off the vioxx, (which was prescribed for back and neck pain.) Seems that vioxx can cause hepatitis and they want to see if the yellowing goes down. I really appreciate your help. Hopefully, he will be able to hold food and regain some strength in the next few days. Thank you and God Bless you. Verlene Mooney
