different people of course, as usual (grin) feel differenly about these

things. Just my two cents worth then....

for some, the navel is the place where they were conected to their beloved

mothers.... though I know many of us did not nec have mothers who later were

able to 'see' their children well or love them in ways that could be readily

understood, it is one of the few places on/in the body that is evidence that

a miracle took place between these two human beings. That aperature is the

single most vital way to grow strong enough to be born. It is not to wax

nostalgic about it all, but as a mother who cut her child's cord and who took

care of the subsequent wound on my baby so that she would be well healed,

separate and fully alive, the navel has much memory surrounding it.

Some like to be rather gross about it all, but I know that just like some

women have little sensation in their breasts, some have little in the navel.

But some people have much sensation there, and/or a sense of protection for

that area. Some are sickened if someone gently pushes in on their navel. Some

are delighted to be touched there. Others dislike it. Amongst some of the

eastern religions, although there have been slanders bandied about

" contemplating one's navel " but as I understand it from my Buddhist and Hindu

friends, it really means that the navel is seen as an important energic nerve

center that has spiritual and neurological capabilities; I think these are

called chakras in Sanskrit.

These are just some thoughts this foggy morning. The sky and the land are the

same color. There is fog rising off this small lake I am on. Across the lake

is a dark line. It is the cottonwood trees. I am playing Barber. I am

on deadline and just taking a break

love,

ceep
