Eating in Europe

Greetings, all! I'm looking for some advice, reassurance, or something ;-)

I'm going to be spending a month in Europe - Britain, Scotland (well, okay,

for a day ;-), and France. Because I'm traveling alone, and am not supposed

to lift more than 10 lbs, I'm going to be traveling EXTREMELY light.

I'm concerned about eating - getting enough protein - and trying to cope

with the terror I have of hidden sugar (I still dump magnificently on small

amounts of natural sugar if I haven't had enough protein first - haven't

tested and won't test processed sugars).

I will take some protein bars - but I can't carry a month's worth. Does

anyone know if they are commonly available in London or Paris?

I will take some protein powder, but again, can't carry alot, and I can't

seem to gag down the kinds that shake up. Up until now I take the thin

kinds that I can mix in one of the battery powered mixers, but I won't have

room for that either. Maybe I can try again with some of those, sigh.

Also, does anyone have experience trying to carry vitamin and mineral

supplements in? I know that with prescriptions you must have them in the

original bottles, and now they want you to have a paper written script too.

If anyone has any direct experience, could you let me know, or point me in

the right direction? I realized last night that I'm having alot of anxious

feelings about this, and thought I'd ask for help. I am memorizing certain

foods that I know I can eat, and also the things I CAN'T have.

Does anyone know if clotted cream has sugar in it?

Breakfast is going to be the biggest challenge, I think, at least in France,

because typically they have some sort of bread and jam and coffee. No

protein at all. Eggs are for lunch and dinner, and I'm told most places

don't serve eggs in the AM. And any of the places I stay that will have a

" Continental Breakfast " will be serving coissant, juice, maybe some other

pastry, etc. Not a thing there I can touch ;-(
