Guest guest
Just a short note to share with you about a visit to 's urologist yesterday. He (the doctor) knows totally about 's PD diagnosis, the probable (but not stated) Shy Drager diagnosis, about his OH and he knows all the medications takes....still with all this info he prescribed Flomax. Since he was also the doctor that had prescribed Detrol (which put in the hospital with his last OH episode after only one dose!) we knew to ask questions when we went to our WONDERFUL pharmacist who refused to fill the script, based on our questions and looking at the indications and side effects for Flomax. His further research prompted a call back letting us know that ALL the medications currently on the market for urinary frequency, urgency and incontinence should NEVER be prescribed for or taken by a person who has OH or fluctuating/low blood pressure. Of course our experience, in no way, should override each individuals personal quest for better health, but does at least provide a basis for asking questions about medications commonly prescribed for some of the additional symptoms related to MSA/Shy Drager/PD etc.; and their possible side effects.
