Guest guest
Hi All, I posted a few weeks ago about my concern that perhaps I had a stretched stoma because I have not lost weight in the last 6-7 months. I am now 18 months out from RNY surgery. I started at 302 lbs. and am now at 220 lbs. I wear a size 14, and I am 6 feet tall. (yeah I know i'm a tall drink of water ). I made an appointment w/my surgeon and saw him yesterday. He is unconcerned about the possibility of a stretched stoma or disrupted staple line. He is basing his opinion on the fact that I still get that full to bursting feeling after eating almost a cup of food per meal. I don't throw up, but I know when to stop so that I don't feel miserable. He also says that according to his records I have dropped 10 lbs since Jan. Ibelieve his records are wrong. He told me to increase my exercise and see him again in 2-3 months to monitor my progress. He also said there are drugs I can take at that time if the weight loss has not progressed. He feels that I am a success story because I fall in the range of 50-75% of excess weight lost. My goal weight is 180, excess weight was 122 lbs, and so far I have lost 82 lbs or 67%. What do you guys think? Should I pursue getting scoped? See another doctor? Anybody have a similar experience and care to share? Anxiously awaiting your responses, RNY - 1/18/01 302/220/180 6 ft. tall Size 24 - Size
