Guest guest
Dear Kate, You stated that protein shakes are pre-digested. What does it mean? How can a protein shake be " pre-digested? " I know there are some baby formulas that have the protein broken down so that the baby's stomach does not have to do the work. These formula's are for babies with colic. Is that what you mean by pre-digested? Also, I am switching my protein shakes from " egg and whey " to " soy and whey " in order to help with bone health. Someone in my other group said that soy protein was not as " bio-available " as whey protein. However, would that rule apply in a protein shake? Baby formulas are made with soy protein. I would think that the manufacturers of baby formulas do something to the soy to make it bio-available. Maybe the same process is done to the soy in protein shakes to make them bio-available. If anyone has any information about soy protein shakes versus whey protein shakes, I would appreciate hearing about it. I was merely speculating when I made comparisons to baby formulas since I do not know for sure.
